Erucamide 97%
Catalog Number Q156 Definition Erucamide is one of the most important nitrogen derivatives of erucic acid. Adding 0.05 - 0.2% of Erucamide can reduce friction from 4.55 to 1.11 between polypropylene films. Erucamide has a high melting point and good stability at high temperature. It shows a specially wonderful property at higher temperature compared with other amides. CAS Number 112-84-5 Application One of its important uses is as an anti sticking lubricant, release and antistatic agent of polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP.). Erucamide is also extensively used in the manufacture of printing inks (as a dispersing agent and to improve lubrication) making of high speed printing inks, magnetic inks, typing ribbons, carbon paper and metal decorating. The lubrication of plastic which is printed with it is the same as that which is not printed with it. It is also used in high grade lub-oil, dye dispersants, waterproof and anti-fog agent for paper making and textile industries, foam-stabilizer, metal-wire drawing lubricant agent, etc.
Erucamide can also be used as foam stabilizer and antiseptics of sulfonate detergents. Adding erucamide in anti friction coating of photography and sensitive materials can enhance the properties of the materials.
By using Erucamide can make derivatives, e.g., reacting with C18 amine, and C18 erucamide can produce, as boiler anti-bubling agent. Adding such derivatives into transparent thermoplastic film will not decrease the transmittancy.
